Truly random?

Hey y'all,

this is no big problem but something I have noticed over the years. A thought here: the better, more perfected a piece of software becomes (like Winamp), the smaller the issues raised. They kinda get magnified because one has come to expect excellence all around.

I wonder if the randomize algorithm Winamp uses is truly "unbiased". (I have come to understand that true randomness is difficult to realize in practice).

I am as sure as I'll ever be about anything that the randomize function actually favors some songs (out of my 4.700) over others that sometimes take years to pop up.

Any comments?
