Media Library - I need Folder Names to be Album Names
Instead of "fighting with id3 tags, I'd just like if winamp could understand that my folder names are equal to album names. Can this be done?
I have my music organized like this: FolderA: ARTIST A -------Folder1: ALBUM 1 -------Folder2: ALBUM 2 -------Folder3: ALBUM 3 FolderB: ARTIST B etc. |

You mean in the Playlist?
Winamp -> Prefs -> Titles -> Advanced Title Formatting: If there's no tags present, try something like this... $directory(%filename%,2) - %folder% - $filepart(%filename%) which, using your above example, will output the following: FolderA - Folder1 - filename (without file extension) which should hopefully return: Artist - Album - ## - Title If the filenames aren't something like: 01 - title.mp3 then I guess you'll need to use something else, but that depends on whether the tracknumber and title are in the tags... You tell me... |

Just found this thread and thought it might work for my question (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=284416 - Playlist sorting), however, I've noticed that it now does not sort on the left tree after changing to the above format string. Changing back to default makes no difference to the tree as well.
Anyone have any ideas? |

Really? First post in the thread is titled "Media Library - I need Folder Names to be Album Names"...
maybe I'm reading it wrong. Oh well, back into my corner. |
