Media Library Looks Strange
Hey all,
The media library in winamp suddenly started using the "fixedsys" font if I have the "Use same font as playlist editor" option checked. (I like using Segoe UI instead of Arial) I'm using Winamp 5.51 on Windows Vista. I've attached a screenshot of the problem, if it helps any. Thanks! |

I have the same problem in Winamp 5.51 only when "Media Library uses same font as Playlist Editor" in Preferences -> Media Library. Screenshot included.

Try refreshing the skin. Click in a blank bit of the skin, the space next to the tabs is a good place, then press F5. Does this fix it? I used to have a similar problem when loading Winamp and the Bento skin because of something I had done.
Whether that fixes or not, I assume it returns if you restart Winamp, please post a list of plugins as detailed in the FAQ sticky thread and tell us if you get any error messages when you start Winamp. The F5 refresh tip worked but the problem re-appears.
BTW, here's what I click on that makes this occur: - Open Winamp (Library defaults on the category I left off of, in this example, All Audio) - I click Local Media to see all files and fixedsys font is used to display the characters. * In my case, it ONLY happens when I click on Local Media, then from there on, All Media, CD/DVD Drive, Sansa, Playlists, and Bookmarks is affected. If I never click on Local Media this problem never occurs. All files in my library are .mp3 files Here's a readout of plugins: << General Purpose plugins >> gen_ff.dll (1471 kb) gen_hotkeys.dll (24 kb) gen_jumpex.dll (185 kb) gen_ml.dll (161 kb) gen_tray.dll (24 kb) (5 found) << Media Library plugins >> ml_autotag.dll (25 kb) ml_bookmarks.dll (19 kb) ml_local.dll (264 kb) ml_online.dll (96 kb) ml_playlists.dll (68 kb) ml_plg.dll (56 kb) ml_pmp.dll (194 kb) (7 found) << Input plugins >> in_cdda.dll (104 kb) in_dshow.dll (156 kb) in_flac.dll (36 kb) in_midi.dll (88 kb) in_mp3.dll (385 kb) in_mp4.dll (39 kb) in_nsv.dll (167 kb) in_vorbis.dll (217 kb) in_wave.dll (13 kb) in_wm.dll (290 kb) (10 found) << Output plugins >> out_ds.dll (46 kb) (1 found) << DSP plugins >> none found << Visualisation plugins >> vis_avs.dll (396 kb) vis_nsfs.dll (28 kb) (2 found) << Portable plugins >> pmp_usb.dll (39 kb) (1 found) << System Components (*.w5s) >> aacPlusDecoder.w5s (356 kb) bmp.w5s (7 kb) dlmgr.w5s (24 kb) filereader.w5s (11 kb) gif.w5s (17 kb) gracenote.w5s (12 kb) jnetlib.w5s (26 kb) jpeg.w5s (98 kb) playlist.w5s (35 kb) png.w5s (92 kb) tagz.w5s (18 kb) xml.w5s (85 kb) (12 found) << Root Winamp Folder Dlls >> burnlib.dll (82 kb) libFLAC.dll (133 kb) libmp4v2.dll (175 kb) libsndfile.dll (197 kb) nde.dll (86 kb) nscrt.dll (344 kb) tataki.dll (62 kb) (7 found) << Summary of installed plugins >> 5 General Purpose plugins installed 7 Media Library plugins installed 10 Input plugins installed 1 Output plugin installed 0 DSP plugins installed 2 Visualisation plugins installed 1 Portable plugin installed Total: 26 plugins installed --- I'm uninstalling and installing Winamp again to see if that'll clear it up. |

OK I removed Winamp and the Application Data for all users, Re-installed 5.51 and everything was supposedly back to normal, I could click Local Media with this happening anymore.
But as soon as I started customizing the preferences, it came back. Specifically when I chose to DE-select "Display 'Show Info' in media and album views under Preferences -> Media Library -> Local Media, it changed the font to fixedsys. The Media Library was selected on "Local Media" at this time. I re-checked this item, did the F5 refresh, and everything was back to normal. I continued customizing the preferences, and nothing else caused this to happen. I don't use the Info pane in Library views, so I just resorted to clicking "Hide Info" on all Library Panes I have and that's okay.
