Gyration MCE remote and Winamp Full Screen

I recently got into trying to setup a HTPC and bought a Gyration MCE remote (model GYR3101US). I have the latest version of Winamp installed, Global Hotkeys enabled, running on WinXP sp2 and am having a problem getting the remote to work in Full Screen mode for Winamp. As long as the video is not Full Screen, the remote works flawlessly. I've searched the forum and didn't really turn up a solution. Could someone point me to a thread that can help resolve this or explain why this doesn't work in full screen? Maybe I need a plugin or some additional software?

So no one else has had trouble controlling winamp with a MCE remote while in Full Screen mode?

Again, with Global Hotkeys turned on and winamp not in Full screen mode, the remote works flawlessly. Play, Stop, Pause, etc...all work as expected. But, as soon as I go Full screen for video, only a few buttons work. For instance, Stop works but Play and Pause do not.

Environment:

Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
Winamp 5.51 with Global Hotkeys enabled

Gyration
Media Center Universal Remote Control (GYR3101US)
