Winamp has encountered a problem and needs to close...

After installing the pro version I purchased and attempting to use the features of the system, I continuously get the above error.

I have tried reinstalling, rebooting and installing the system again without it making a difference.

If i request additional information (windows asks if I want to send error to microsoft) it gives the following:

Error signature
AppName: winamp.exe AppVer: 5.5.1.1763
ModName: unknown
Offset: 410092ed

Technical information it wants to send attached.

Running windows SP2 / Dell 2.24gz / 1271mb memory / Radeon 9200 pro graphics card / samsung 931b monitor.

Installed standard pro system.

Please provide additional Winamp & system specs. Basically a HijackThis log and List of Plugins, see the specs link for info on posting a HjT log and plug-ins list.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

Well a couple things for now...

1. Use the DirectSound output plug-in instead of waveOut.
Winamp > Ctrl+P > Plug-ins > Output > highlight/select 'Nullsoft DirectSound Output'
2. Try updating AudioScrobbler, I don't use the plug-in however I think ver. 1.1.10 is available.

[edit] Also, try Winamp > Ctrl+P > Plug-ins > Visualization > unselect 'Nullsoft Tiny Fullscreen' (select something else, AVS maybe)

Thanks Nunzio, however...

Your disappearing link showed ver 1.1.7 and juanfranco has 1.1.9.

Anyways, I almost forgot this by the good DrO.

@ juanfranco

You HjTlog was very long, however I did find any "red flags". Anyways, did you see my previous post?

As I mentioned in that post I don't use the plug-in. Anyways, I almost forgot about the DrO's update for the plug-in. DrO (AKA Darren, AKA Magical Genie of Winamp plugins) is one of the best things that happened to Winamp.

However, I do suggest to keep a copy of the older plug-in incase you need to fallback.

Let us know if any of the suggestions workout.

Exactly JM, which is why it disappeared!
Hmmm... do I see a reference to the Magical Genie of Winamp plugins above?
