The solution to your ongoing Vista "run as administrator" problem is here.
And after you log in under the "true" Administrator account, your problem will be a thing of the past, just a bad memory, a forgotten nightmare, and all will be well in the world again.

Hmmm Well thanks, I guess. I'm not sure if I want to change account though. I'd have to set up lots of stuff again. Too much to list.
I think Vista is great. UAC is a good idea. IE7 is pretty good too now as well. I don't see why the WinAmp devs just can't make the player work within Vista's new simple framework. Why should a media player with WinAmp Agent/WinAmp Remote and all the rest of the bells and whistles disabled need admin on any OS anyway? Why does it need special privileges to just play music?
And if it does need admin to just maintain a library and play a few videos and songs, then just make a service for WinAmp like Valve did for Steam, and the Punkbuster devs did for Punkbuster. It's not that hard to work within the framework Vista has. It's different, but what did you expect from a new OS.
WinAmp should just "get with the programme" and stop expecting different treatment. You can't expect expect every Vista user to use Command prompt to unhide the admin account and start using it instead, just for WinAmp. It was probably hidden for a good reason. Just make a service guys or make it not need admin anymore. I don't see why it needed it anyway.
