Winamp vs. Mediamonkey library rescan speed

I've noticed that while it takes a long time for both Winamp and Mediamonkey to initially created a library for a lot of files, there is a very large difference in the time taken to re-scan each library.

Mediamonkey 3.0 rescans your library for changes at every start of the application and normally completes the task between 30 and 60 seconds. Winamp 5.52 can take up to 20 minutes on the same set of files (~20k).

This can be a pain when you've added new music to a collection, and you'd (ideally), like to be able to rescan your watch-folders and quickly see an updated library instead of waiting 20 minutes.

I generally use Mediamonkey for organising my music. Tag from Web and auto-organize are fantastic tools, and Winamp could definately look to implement something similar if it's not already in the pipeline.

Just wondering if there are plans to speed up the NDE (Nullsoft database engine) rescan times?
