Shortcuts only appear after reboot
Can anyone tell me why shortcuts I install on Vista don't show up in the Start menu until after I reboot? I know there are some issues with UAC, and I've perused the assorted threads on this, but I haven't seen anybody mention this specific problem.
The program group and shortcuts are there where they should be, but they don't appear in the Start menu. I'm happy to receive a curt reply pointing me to the thread or Wiki page I keep overlooking. |

Upgrade to v2.34
It appears that upgrading to v.2.34 fixes the problem.

No, as far as I can tell it only *sometimes* solves the problem.
I've seen it work. I've seen it not work. What is going on? |

Try calling RefreshShellIcons after you create the shortcuts.
