Ok, I'll admit I did something dumb - I messed with the equalizer without knowing what I was doing. So my question is:
Are there any free preloaded/configured equalizer plug-ins for the equalizer challenged?

Yes there is. It comes with winamp! In the winamp equalizer window there is a button called "presets" Press it and you get a whole bunch of presetted EQU settings. I use rock. Or if you do not want to use any settings the "on" button will not have a green light next to it.

Why is it that when I'm adjusting my eqalizer there is always about a 20 second delay before the changes take effect? it does get confusing when it doesn't adjust at the same time i'm adjusting it!

Itall dpends on your buffer size, you have sound already porcessed and in an out buffer, you have to wait for thgat buffer to clearbefore you heare the effected music. The buffer is usualt 2 seconds.

Is it possible to cut out the singing/lyrics?

I was seeing if theres a way to cut down the lyrics on a song completely or at least so soft I cant hear it, but still keep the music so its kinda like karaoke? Does anyone know how? And I just downloaded a preloaded avs, dunno what it's for(i thought it was a preloaded sound setting).

Get a plug-in called "Vocal Remover" at http://www.analogx.com
Avs presets are not for sound, they are to be used with the AVS visual plug-in.
