CDDB (Gracenote) Error - Can't even manually edit CD titles
hi,
I've got an error that occurs when i try to edit the CD titles on a CD i've just inserted. It's a burnt CD (personal compilation I made for myself, so it wouldn't exist on gracenote anyway. Very simply when i insert the CD, gracenote attempts to find the CD and it's reported the CD cannot be found and reports an unknown error. I attempt then to edit the CD track titles manually, by going into the Edit CD info... (Alt-3). I click on EDIT and the same error as above appears (now shouldn't EDIT allow me to edit the CD info locally?) As far as I can tell no matter what I do, both EDIT and MUSICID do the same thing and report the Gracenote as noted above. If this is something that has been reported before, I have been unable to locate it. I apoligise is this problem has already been noted. - Jajang Specs: PC - Compaq EVO CPU/RAM - Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 512MB Ram sound - onboard (Soundmax digital audio) Operating System - Win XP Service Pack 2 Direct X - Direct X 9.0c Winamp - version 5.52 (has been prevallent since version 5.5 Full Install of Winamp Also note - i'm at work behind a firewall. This firewall is accessed by a script. |

It's been an issue since version 5.5 at least.
I talked to tech support then and they said it would be fixed in version 5.51. I just upgraded to 5.52 because I had another commercial CD that Gracenote couldn't find. I'm very disappointed in WinAmp/AOL but it's typical of what I've come to expect from AOL programmers. I hate being lied to, and hope that this problem gets fixed in the next release... Hopefully they will test it this time. |
