I have tried to change the skin on my winamp and I have had no luck.I have only been able to change the skin once and I have had that skin forever. And when I tried to download another skin it wont change. It just goes back to the base skin. I have even tried uninstalling Winamp and I downloaded the newer version ... And it still wont change the skin. What else could I do to get the skin to change?

Have you tried right-clicking on a shutter or something - where the first thing in the pop-up menu says "Nullsoft Winamp...", then choose the "Skins" selection further down and the list of skins you downloaded should show up, and just highlight one.
Either that or press Alt-S and your list of downloaded skins should show up, and you could choose it there. If that still doesn't work, then the problem's out of my league...

I know you've said you tried everything, but does the download even work?
If it does, could the skins maybe be somewhere else on your computer? Try this: Go to Find File in the start menu, on the "Name and Location" tab select to look in "C:", then click on the Advanced tab and in the "of type" menu, select "Winamp extension intallation file" and click "Find Now". If you have any anywhere, they'll show up in the list, and all you have to do is locate them, and drag them into the skins folder in your Winamp folder. (mine is in C:/Program Files.) If none show up, or if you don't have all those tabs I just said... then I haven't a clue ![]() Perhaps I should leave this thread to people who know more than me... |

i had the exact same problem and uninstalled winamp and reinstalled it with the newest version. skins still wouldn't download but after a while, i tried downloading a couple of skins that wouldn't work before, and they worked. after i got those two, though, no other ones would work. i dont know what i did different, but downloads would just randomly work. this doesn't solve your problem, but maybe if you just try downloading the skins you want later, things will work.
