How to batch convert files?

Hi Winamp Gurus,

I just can't figure out how I can use Winamp to batch convert my music library from flac to wma.

Basically, I want to do the same thing Winamp does when converting stuff for a portable device, only I want the converted files to be written to a harddisk path I specify. I'd like the directory structure, filenames and metadata to remain intact, only the files cross-encoded to wma (or other formats).

Can Winamp do this? If not, can anybody suggest a good tool for this kind of batch conversion task?

I guess the workaround would first transferring the files to my portable, forcing winamp to convert, and them copying the stuff back to my harddrive. But that kind of sucks when the portable only has 8GB...

Any hints appreciated!

Cheers,
Uwe
