Installing fonts

Done some searching, but cannot get much wiser as thee seem to be a number of ways to do things and I am not really sure how to proceed..

What I need to do is install a number of fonts from a set folder and register them with windows.

I found some 'general' howto posts, but for some reason I cannot get my head around it..

Any help would be much appreciated!
