Error Message Help
Please excuse my inexperience. I work for my college's radio station and yesterday we recieved notice that our server was down. Usually, it's just a simple issue of killing the server and restarting Shoutcast and WinAmp. However, this solution does not seem to be working. The error message we are recieiving is:
(Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 128.82.59.121:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out) Can anyone help with this problem? I'm afraid I'm not that "in tune" with how the server is set up, but I can provide as much info as I know if it is needed. Thank you. The error means that the SHOUTcast yp is looking for your station at 128.82.59.121:8000 but it could not connect.
This error is usually due to something (firewall, or improper port forwarding) blocking outside requests for your station. Verify that 128.82.59.121 is your IP. Verify that you do not have a software firewall blocking the DNAS from accepting connections. If you have a router sharing the above IP verify that the port forwarding is setup correctly. Finally if the above doesn't work check with the Univerisities IT department that they are not blocking incoming TCP requests on port 8000 for your station. Tom |
