Need a plugin for a button panel or palet...
I've been looking for a plugin for winamp and have yet to find one that does this. If you know of one, let me know, or if you know how you could make one, it would be a very nice feature for DJ's trying to run their own radio station or DJ's that do voicetracking for ShoutCAST streams.
The plugin would basically appear on your screen as a panel of buttons. Each button when pressed would play a different sound effect, quote, radio station image, etc. The buttons would be "mapped" by linking the button to a particular audio cut, and the buttons would each be allowed some unique descriptor. i.e. if a movie audio sound effect was named SFX1.mp3 but you wanted to be more specific, the button would say something like "car crash transformers" or something like that. There is a program called Stinger that already does that kind of thing, but it costs $200. Anyone know of an equivalent plugin for winamp? |

Very easy to code in a Modern Skin. If you use Winamp for the music play also and would like the sound effects to play at the same time you'll have to open another instance of Winamp for the dj modern skin.
Tell me how many sound effects you want and I'll code a widget for ClassicPro for this. But will do this when I have time and when Winamp 5.53 is out
ClassicPro© v2.01 : This plugin allows you to use cPro skins in Winamp. ClassicPro skins are all SUI skins and loads very quickly. ClassicPro skins is even easier to skin than Winamp Classic skins. A new layout have been added since version 2. |

I think 30 minimum, up to 50 would be nice. And I don't think I'll need 2 windows open with the music, we do voicetracking ahead of time so we don't need the live music rolling simultaneously.

Do you need a label on the button? or just the number 1 - n on the button?
I think a basic separate skin will be better for this. Will this work: Have n buttons and if you press but#5 for example it will play file no 5 in the playlist and stop.. or loop depending on the setting that I'll include too. If you could make the button names customizable, that would be great. Then the user could just set the playlist order and name the buttons, and if the playlist changes we could rename the buttons accordingly.

DjStation v0.01
Here is it.
Please note that you'll have to turn manual playlist advance ON: Preferences > General Preferences > Playlist > [x] Manual Playlist Advance. Turn Repeat Off too The button text was generated like this: n: filename.mp3 You'll need the latest Winamp for this to work
