n00b question about playlist etc.
This is probably a rather stupid question, but, I really want the 'cursor' (or marker, or whatever it's called) in ML to follow playback. As it is now, it only follows in the playlist, which I don't use. I know it was like this before, the setting got lost when I updated to 5.52. So, what to do?
Hopefully I explained this good enough. :P |

It doesn't. The Media Library has no knowledge of what is being played.

Well, I am certain that the 'feature' I'm looking for WAS there in 5.35, so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to get it back now.

The Media Library has never known what is playing and then followed it. If you were using a third-party plugin then perhaps it needs updating.

Hmm, ok. Any clue what plug-in that might be? Sorry if this is the wrong forum for plug-in related questions.

No, I don't know of a plugin that does that, I would have said what it might have been if I did.

As already stated, the Media Library is just a library and nothing more. It's never never ever been dynamic to reflect what's playing in the Playlist Editor.
As J_Darnley indicated above, I also know of nothing that will do/ever did what you want, UNLESS... did you ever have the Dynamic Library plugin installed? It has it's own functionality, apart from the Playlist Editor, and there may be a function for something similar to what you are looking for. Take a look through the Dynamic Library Documentation to see if there is anything there in its functionality that might be helpful to you. P.S. If you simply upgraded from an older version of Winamp (eg: 5.35 - which you said you had), to the latest version of Winamp (which you also said you now have), then even if whatever plugin you had is no longer functioning, it should STILL be in your plugins list in Preferences. So look for it there. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.
