New Winamp does not play every .wav file

At the moment I have 2 !!! Winamps on my puter, cuz my lovely old one, altho quite limited, plays every .wav file, but the new Winamp, who is very extended, and where I also have selected ALL the extensions (in preferences, extension files - and the .wav extension is also selected, I checked it twice) But it doesn't work !!!!????!!!!!!!
Can someone pleas help me. I'd like to end up with just 1
