Changing A Filename On Playlist
just downloaded winamp and absolutely love it except for one thing...i download a song from the internet, lets say for example the song is the rolling stones satisfaction, but the idiot who put the song on the internet in the first place put in the filename as "The Rollfkdjing Stoqwfsdoines - Satisfgoction" because he was drunk or whatever so naturally after it downloads I change the filename in my downloads folder to "The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction." I load it onto Winamp and on the playlist editor it has the wrong screwy name no matter how many times I keep changing it to the right name (right click on the file, then "view file info"). The filename in my downloads folder is correct and its playing right, but Winamp refuses to change the filename on the editor. Anyone know how to fix this?

Winamp uses the ID3 tags (or other type of tag, depending on the format). This can be edited from the "View File Info..." (Alt+3) screen. If you just want to live by filenames then goto.
Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Titles In the Advanced Title Formatting box drop in $filepart(%filename%) | Brought to you by ^V ^C | The one... the original... no seriously! |
