Volume Control Issue
Hey. Yeah so... I'm using the Realtek AC97 sound card and drivers. Ummm...
Ok. The volume control on winamp controls the wave output on the entire computer. A few months ago it wasn't like this. May have started happening when I got the card, but doubts. Anyways, I want winamp to use its own independent volume, and not touch the entire computer's. How can I do that? As I want to have quiet music playing in the background as I do other things which require my sound to be louder. |

Ctrl+P for Winamp preferences > Plug-ins > Output > Nullsoft DirectSound Output
Winamp's sound/volume controls will then be independently controlled. You're probably using Nullsoft WaveOut Output right now. Just change it to DirectSound. You can also apply some neat fading and cross-fading effects too, in the DirectSound configuration. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.
