oscilloscope using the sound card of a computer

i'm a graduating class electrical engineer and i'm working on my final project which is "digital oscilloscope using the sound card of a computer"
i was supposed to use directsound to capture the signal input from the line in of the sound card and stream it to be displayed using some kind of s******e, if u know anything about this topic SOL
