Possessed mp3s
Every time I log on to winamp now, half my songs will have randomly reorganized themselves by genre. Since I'm kinda ADHD when it comes to my music this sucks when a bunch of specifically organized songs are suddenly all under 'rock'. Any ideas? I think it started a little after I upgraded to the new version of winamp. Maybe it's not winamp but the only other program I have is itunes and I haven't used it in months. File sharing programs? (I use emule)

Windows Media Player 11, iTunes, MusicMatch all have background hidden features to automatically move/rename/re-tag files, but Winamp does not. WMP11 is so integrated into Windows that it doesn't even need to be open - if that feature is enabled in its options then it updates all files whenever they accessed by any other program.
The only way to edit the tags in Winamp is to do it manually, either via: File Info (Alt+3) Media library -> Local Media view -> right-click songs -> Edit selected items or: Send To -> Autotag |
