Media Lib. Recently Played list gone help please

hi, i'm using v5.21 and normally in my Media Library window resides my Recently Played list, however the list is now blank and not keeping new records of anything i play.

Options -> Preferences -> Media Library -> Media History Tab - the Recently Played and Recent Items boxes are still checked and enabled and i've tried cycling them off and on again w/ no result.

is there any way to make this work again and recover the list? there were 1000+ tracks/radio stations spread over 3 drives that'd be a pain to remember where they were. thanks.

ETA: i found the problem... going through the other threads here reminded me there is a collapsible left panel with more view options and Recent Items somehow got deselected there, but the box was still checked under the Media History Tab. re-highlighting in the left panel worked. just writing this down if anyone else needs this info for future reference.

v5.21 is no longer supported

Right-click "Recently Played" in the ML tree, select "Edit View"
and increase the Played Last -> After -> (value)

e.g. if it says "3 weeks ago" then it'll only show whatever's been played in the last 3 weeks
(maybe you've not played anything recently?)

The actual relevant setting is:
Winamp -> Prefs -> Media Library -> Local Media -> Options tab:
"Enable 'Recently Played' view in ML"

Although it doesn't make the view appear/disappear, that setting needs to be checkmarked for playcount tracking to work.

There is no "Options -> Preferences -> Media Library -> Media History Tab" and/or "Recently Played and Recent Items boxes" in the default Winamp 5.531 setup, so maybe you've installed some 3rd-party plugin or something - in which case you'll need to contact said 3rd-party plugin author for support instead.

Thanks for the help I figured it out yesterday. I don't use any 3rd party plugins and haven't downloaded any so I know it wasn't because of that and I pretty much use Winamp everyday + I unchecked the box that removes items from the recently played list after a certain amount of time. Anyways, it was a weird view switch thing that happened out of the blue.

Also there is a Media History Tab in the tree from my original post. I realize v5.21 is no longer supported but when I said I was using it I really am still using v5.21 and that was a stock tab back then which I guess has been removed in between 5.21 and 5.531.

Which brings me to my next question, the reason why I stick to 5.21 is that it works and I run it on an old computer that I'm rue to upgrade Winamp on because I'm worried about increased resource use by it with each update. Is there anything in 5.531 that makes it worth upgrading to?

Bear in mind I don't really care about displaying cover art, retrieving song/artist info from another website, visualizations, using it as a browser or video player or turning it into itunes or an ipod. I just really only use Winamp to listen to mp3's and internet radio alone which it does fine.
