Potential solution to problem with online services
After some digging on the forum's stickys, I came to the conclusion that the problem is not a bug in the winamp software but rather a security issue with the internet navigator used by winamp to deal with the online services. So I meddled with my Internet Explorer, changing the default security settings to Medium (I had it on Customized settings). After this it works fine now. If you dont know how to change your security options on Internet Explorer, check the options in the upper bar and look for Tools, then there go over Internet Options (new window pops up) and look for the Security tab. There you should see the security settings. If you have them too high, try setting them a bit lower. And presto! Now you may continue to Winamp happily everafter! I hope the fact of lowering down a bit your internet's security dont make you mad but is for the good.

Thanks, however the general suggestion is add the following sites to Internet Explorer's trusted zones
(Microsoft Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options... > Security tab > Trusted Sites icon > Sites... button) *.winamp.comThat way there is not a need to lower the security level. Which will keep the network/system services desk happy if you are on a business computer and help to reduce possible threats on home or personal computers. |
