Files playing in random order
I have the problem in Winamp that files from playlists oder enqueued files are playing in random order.
This is the case even though in the Playlist Editor window they are shown in the correct order. But during playback or when using next/previous, Winamp jumps to some file out of order and plays it (and the blue highlight in the Playlist Editor jumps correspondingly). I have not selected any "shuffle" option, as far as I am aware of. How can I force Winamp to play files in the order shown in the Playlist window? I would be grateful for any help to solve this problem. |

Shuffling...
Thanks for your quick reply!
That seems indeed to be the solution... But shouldn't there be a visual indication somewhere that shuffle mode is on - or shouldn't the tracks / file names appear in shuffled order in the Playlist window in that case? I found this very confusing and did not think of this "simple" solution. I am aware of the Shuffle option in the Play menu; but there was no checkmark there indicating it was on so I never thought that could have been the reason. How can I see if Shuffle mode is on/off? Or can I permanently disable Shuffling (I definitely know I will never use it)? Last edited by Morgane; 29th June 2008 at 09:07. |

In the main window there's a shuffle button, which becomes highlighted if shuffle is enabled.
Depending on the skin you're using, the shuffle button has 'Shuffle' (Winamp Classic) or '123' (Winamp Modern and Bento) written on it. |

Thanks for your help!
I am using the Modern Default skin and now I see the "123" button, of course - I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I never paid attention to it and never thought about its meaning... |

You are welcome. Don't worry about picking up on that earlier. It is one of those "can't see the forest through the trees" type of thing.
Anyways, I made a little error my self. Modern Default is a old name now that Bento is the default skin. It should have "Winamp Modern", which has now been corrected in the previous reply. Serves me right for copying and pasting from one of my old posts.
