iTunes Plugin v1.06
I searched, I googled, did all that and came up with nothing.... So, if this has been asked (as I'm sure it has) sorry in advance.
I unfortunately have about a million iTunes files that were purchased from the iTunes Music Store, and am having a few issues with playback. I have the iTunes plugin installed, and it works, but I get some "skipping" when playing DRM'd files. Non DRM'd files are fine. This skipping occurs whenever I do just about anything other than play music with my machine. I have Synergy installed to share my keyboard and mouse between my Linux box and my Vista machine, and whenever I switch screens, it skips.....whenever I launch a web browser, it skips.... and worse, if I do anything in Winamp, other than select a file, it hangs.... Again, when playing a non DRM'd file, everything is smooth as glass. I would really appreciate any help you all can offer.... I really like Winamp a lot...so much better than iTunes.... Thanks.... |

The non drm'd files will be standard .m4a files and are therefore decoded by the default Nullsoft MPEG4 Audio Decoder (in_mp4.dll).
Alas, the drm'd ones (.M4P files) are decoded entirely by QuickTime. The itunes/m4p plugin is just an interface to link Winamp to the itunes database and QuickTime engine. It doesn't do any actual decoding. Basically, what I'm saying is that: 1) It's possibly a QuickTime buffer setting that needs adjusting (sorry, I don't have iTunes or QuickTime installed, and never intend to) 2) Alas, we don't support 3rd-party plugins here. Assuming it's this itunes plugin that you're using, then you should post something in that thread and/or contact the plugin author for support. |
