This morning I've being trying to search for skins I'd like to use on my winamp. But with every search I perform, I'm given the message "We're sorry, your search did not return any results." I got suspicious when I was given that message even after I searched for skins I had already located with the search weeks ago. I tried searching for skins that were displayed on the first page under categories such as human or movies. I tried searching by author name, by title of the skin, by subject of the skin. In other words, it was telling me it couldn't find skins I was looking at displayed right in front of me on the screen. And I searched using exact titles or author names attached to the skin. Always the same: "... search did not return any results." Anyone else have this problem today? Am I doing something wrong? Or is http://www.winamp.com having technical problems?
Thanks! wallsofbabyblue |

Search by Skin Author
Ok it was April 2001 that wallsofbabyblue mentioned the "search skins by author" problem.. were now into 2002 and as far as i can tell its still an issue..
Surely it's better to have it working properly or at least not have the search box labeled "Skin, Author, or Description"..

first of all, searching for posts:
i have problems when entering more than 1 search term, like "search* skin*". it just stays on the screen forever and never does anything. if i just put 1 search term, it goes automatically with that message saying it's performing the search. secondly, searching for skins: what's the search mechanism for searching for skins? do they just search for the exact word order for what you put in the "description"? isn't it just better to give a character limit in the description box, and then include all the key words in the search that are in the description? or maybe just make a key word box alone? |
