WMA files playing rapidly in winamp
I've been a winamp user from way back and have thus far always been pleased with it, but now something weird is happening whenever I play a .wma file (that applies to ALL wma files, even the not microsoft bullied ones). They play at about double speed, which would normally be hillareous and all, but I just want to listen to them...
All other filetypes play fine. The .wma appear to play freakily in winamp, but as I have no other player, I would not know if that's winamp-specific. The chipmunk-effect started occurring when I upgraded to the newest version of winamp, before that these same files played just fine. I have attached the HJT logfile as instructed in the sticky. Searching this forum jielded a number of suggestions about spyware infections, so I was hoping one of you guys might find one so that I may once again enjoy the sweet music...and the like. PS: Adaware found 1 crucial infection which I have already removed, but I have not yet rebooted my system. MacAfee found nothing viral. |

sounds like its more of a plugin trying to associate that shouldnt make sure only the windows media decoder is the only codec controlling the wma file (check for plugins you may have installed)
thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |
