Sharing playlist over home network

Hi, 1st time poster here -> :-D

I am running into some trouble with my playlists over my home network. I previously had this working, but I'm not sure how, I just set it up and it worked. but here we go...

I have all my music stored on my main desktop (Windows XP) in 1 main folder (All Music). This folder is shared out to the network as are my playlists. I am wanting to use the playlists i create on my main desktop on any computer in my network.

This had worked in the past, i was using wmp and had everything shared and it worked. Since then a couple of things have changed. I started using winamp, i for some reason changed the name of the shared file, but have changed it back.

The main computer i am trying to access it from is a ubuntu media center, but i have tried w/ a xp laptop and a linux laptop. The playlist doesn't work on any of them. I even tried creating a new playlist in wmp and it didnt work either.

So... how do i create and share a playlist on a home network.

thanks

Sounds like this is a case of having to make the playlists on one of the network machines.
If they have been made on the local machine then Winamp uses local addresses(good for only the local machine), if they are made on a network machine then Winamp uses network addresses(good for all machines).

If you already have a large playlist of local addresses then you can load into 'Notepad' and use 'Replace all' to convert local to network pathnames. Fortunately you have all your music in the one root folder, so this is not much of a chore.

What UJ indicated will work unless you lose the network connection for any reason.
