Transfering Albums to a Portable
Hi there, first off let me say Winamp ROCKS! I used to use iTunes for years now but I recently switched over and I'm as happy as a pig in ****
. Thank you Nullsoft!I also just recently got an 8GB Sansa View. Now, the transferring to the View via Winamp has been fine, almost no problems here. But I listen to a lot of electronic music, and consequently a lot of albums are compilations with multiple artists. Right now when I try to transfer one of those compilations Winamp will put it in a folder called Music with separate subfolders with the artists name. As it is right now my View will get very cluttered very fast with all the different artists in it. What I'm trying to do is to be able to transfer the compilation and sort it by Album, rather than artist. So say I transfer "Oxycanta Winter Blooms" Right now the folder will look like this: MUSIC\Aes Dana\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Track 1 MUSIC\Amos\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Track 2 MUSIC\Bob Tracker\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Track 3 And so on. I would like it to look like this: MUSIC\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Aes Dana\Track 1 MUSIC\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Amos\Track 2 MUSIC\Oxycanta Winter Blooms\Bob Tracker\Track 3 Is there possible way to do this? Winamp won't let me see the advanced tab in Preferences\Portables, so I can't do anything there. I have tried editing the CD Rip settings to "<Album>- <Artist>\## - <Trackartist> - <Title>" but it still doesn't work. Thanks for all your help! |

Use the Sansa in the mass storage device mode (I think you can switch them), then you can use pmp_usb to manage it and set the naming convention to what you want.

I don't know, you own the Sansa, RTFM (Read The Manual). pmp_usb is another portable plugin which I think is better because it only does what you tell it to.
