FLAC files and the Library
Hi,
I have just started using Winamp Full. My music is ripped from my CD collection using EAC and FLAC. I am using Winamp as it seems to have the best "out of the box" FLAC support. Everything is good apart from how Artists are displayed in the Media Library. Before I go in to the problem rest assured I have read the FAQS, help files and the Greatest whatever thread. I also have searched extensively for this issue. The problem is in the media library view it is displaying a LOT of artists from the Various Artists folder. This is pretty annoying and makes it hard to find an artist to listen to a whole album. What I think I would like is for the Artists pane to actually show Various Artists and then the albums under neath that in the Album Pane. Basically I want it to just show my folder structure of music. This is setup as Artist\Album\## - song.flac or Various Artist\Album\## - Song - Artist.flac Any suggestions on how to clean up the Artist pain on the Media Library? Cheers, pox67. |

I am assuming these FLAC files are properly tagged too?
Select the files in the various artist folder, right click and select "Edit selected Items..." For the "Album Artist" field set that to "Various Artist" (Or whatever you want, really). Then just use the Album Artist column. The middle button by the search abr in the top of the media Library, click it. If say you have Artst\Album selected switch to 'Album Artist\Album" If there is no "album Artist" defined, Winamp uses just the artist as the Album Artist. | Brought to you by ^V ^C | The one... the original... no seriously! |

Thanks Sawg.
I tried playing around with it but didn't want to re-tag a lot of my music. In the end I found another player that has good flac support and works OK with my tagging. |
