Winamp crashes, when I change the volume

Hi,
My problem is, that when I start Winamp, first I can start a song, but after a few seconds (or when I change the volume) it crashes. it shows instead of the volume in %, something like "TTF FONT OVERRIDE" or Altrenate Font (look at the screenshot below). Maybe it is a probelm, that is caused by GIMP, that i installed before. After installing, Winamp didn´t work anymore. But on the startup of GIMP was shown: loading Font Files or something like that. is there any connection with it? I´ve uninstalled GIMP and reinstalled Winamp already, but still the same error.

any ideas?

Hi

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#specs

Please post your 'List Of Plugins' (click above link for details)
What version of Winamp are you using?
What is your Windows OS?
What are the details of the error message? (via 'click here' in your screenshot)

Does the following file exist on your system?
(assuming you installed Winamp to the default folder)
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\freeform\wacs\freetype\freetype.wac

Have you changed any of the settings in:
Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Skins -> Modern Skins -> Font Rendering tab?

Is "Use FreeType TrueType font rendering for older skins" checkmarked or not?
Is "Use skin font mapper" checkmarked?
If yes, then have you manually configured any font changes via: Configure Skin Font Mapping? And which ones exactly?

Does the problem also occur when using the English default translation of Winamp instead of the German one?
(You can change it via: Winamp -> Prefs -> Localization)

oh i´m sorry for my bad post..

So here are the lists:

PLUGINS:
gen_dropbox.dll
gen_ff.dll
gen_hotkeys.dll
gen_jumpex.dll
gen_ml.dll
gen_tray.dll

My actual version is 5.54 (does not work), the version I used before was 5.53, did work until a few days ago..

CPU & RAM:
1 GB, AMD Athlon 64; 2,8 Ghz
Windows XP (SP 2)
[if you need: DirectX 9.0c; NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE]

the extended error message is:
AppName: winamp.exe AppVer: 5.5.4.2147 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 000106c3

the folder C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\freeform\wacs\freetype\freetype.wac exists,
and I did not change the setting.

the other two are not checkmarked and it doesn't work in the englisch version as well.
i had another error, but only one time.[Screenshot below]

have you tried to delete those new buttons in shade mode?

if not, try to delete:
C:/Dokumente und einstellungen/Anwendungsdaten/Application Data/Winamp/studio.xnf

United3000:

is it so hard to read the whole thread you got from Egg?

You should post a complete list of your installed plugins (my_plugin_list.txt), not just a few.

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#specs

Cannot reproduce any crash, when changing the volume. You probably should delete studio.xnf like martin said, this works for most modern skin issues, otherwise post more informations or try a clean install.
