Winamp 5.54 generating an error on loading.

Hi.

I just installed Winamp Pro 5.54. Unfortunately, I cannot complete the installation and registration process because Windows (XP SP2) seems to take issue with it. I get the familiar "<application> has encountered a problem and needs to close" window. Rebooting and disabling the HOSTS file in use has no effect on this error. The available information on the error is as follows:

AppName: winamp.exe AppVer: 5.5.4.2145 ModName: enc_aacplus.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00001221

I have attached the dump file as well. If anyone has any ideas about this, please let me know, as I just paid for software that isn't working. Any help you can give is appreciated.

Problem solved. Looks like the old plugins were hosing the system on startup, so I uninstalled everything, deleted the plugins folder, and now it works.
