BAD BUG in Winamp 5.54

I just updated my Winamp (ver. 5.531) to the new version (5.54). Immediately discovered a new bug:

If you attempt to change preferences while Winamp is playing a track, Winamp crashes. That wasn't the case with the previous version!

Here's an example:
Open Winamp, get it to play some MP3 files.
While it's playing, open the PREFERENCES panel
and check (or uncheck) the "Zero pad item number" box
(under General Preferences - Playlist).
Then close the PREFERENCES panel... That's when it crashes.

(using Windows XP SP3)

i found another bug - though it existed in prev versions as well, but i thought that now with all the japanese support, it should have been fixed. so the problem is if you have japanese songs on your playlist, your list can be saved, but upon opening it jumps through the files as if they had been moved/removed. i wonder if there's something to fix this? i didn't try dling the japanese version, i will check it out as well, but i don't really like the idea of having japanese winamp just because of this :/

1. Can't reproduce the crash
Please attach your 'List of Plugins'
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins <-- click for instructions!!

2. Make sure you save the playlist to M3U8 (unicode), not M3U (ansi)

I am not using any plugins, only the standard installation of Winamp.

I just conducted a few more tests and found out more precisely the circumstances under which the crash takes place.

When you run Winamp with only the Playlist Editor window open, then the problem does not occur.

However, if you have both Media Library and Playlist Editor windows open (I have them partly overlapping on the screen, but I don't know if that makes a difference), and some MP3 file playng, then attempting to modify Preferences will result in a crash. Please try it out.

As far as the plugins are concerned, I just found them listed under Preferences. Have made screenshots using SnagIt. Attaching them one by one ...
