Winamp Playlist association issue?
just been through a lot of grief trying to get Winamp 5.54 to be properly associated with .pls files under Vista Home Premium 32-bit
seems like after a fresh install of 5.54, there are NO subkeys underneath HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Winamp.PlayList\shell (there should be Enqueue, ListBookmark, open, Play from what I've seen on my XP box) (btw, this also seems to be the case for Winamp.LangZip AND Winamp.SkinZip) consequently, any attempt to assoc. Winamp with .pls fails miserably is this a bug in 5.54 specifically? thanks - a longtime Winamp (XP) user! m |

ps - additional info
PC is running Vista Home Premium (SP1) It is a Dell XPS420 with E8500 Dual Core Processor Sound h/w is integrated "High Definition Audio Device" GPU is ATI 3650HD The bug was easy to verify. I uninstalled Winamp and made sure the Winamp.PlayList HKCR entry was removed. Reinstalling Winamp created the necessary entry, but no subkeys. |

I can reproduce this issue on Windows Vista Premium x64 with SP1 and all the latest updates. I've tried clean installs using both v5.541 build 2165 Lite enUS and v5.4 Lite enUS with the same result.
Everything appears to work just fine if you add the subkeys manually though. Additional system details: C2D E6600, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8800GTS 320MB, and X-Fi XtremeGamer, all with the latest drivers as of today. DirectX 10. |

I agree - I copied the reg entries from my XP box and all is fine with Winamp opening and working with internet .pls links (eg Shoutcast) after that.
