AVI and MKV won't work
AVI and MKV's play audio but not the footage, please help.

When you say "footage" I assume you are referencing video playback - yes?

Easiest just to quote from Egg here re: MKV and a link to other video playback issues...

so add MKV to the extension list in the DirectShow Decoder config
(Winamp -> Prefs -> Plugins -> Input -> in_dshow -> config)
