Winamp not playing (some) MP3 files! (again)
Similar to this thread http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=269095 ....
I have some mp3s that will not play in Winamp but they do in Windows Media Player. I tried all the solutions in the thread listed above including changing the output plugin, disabling DSP but the mp3s still won't play. Winamp gives no error message. Real Player and Quicktime also won't play these mp3s. But these same files are synched up with my iPod and my iPod can play them. iTunes can also play the files from iPod rather than from my local mp3 collection. It's got me baffled. Any suggestions? |

So it could be the same virus that's been recently effecting MP3's that others have suffered from. From the FAQ... MP3's play at double speed, distorted, or no longer play at all (malware related)And if the suggested fix doesn't work you may need to post your sys specs and other required info, and supply your HijackThis log and the List of Plugins specified there, as a zipped attachment to your next reply here. That way, one of our forum "gurus" can determine if it's the virus/malware or something else that's caused the corruption. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.
