Always On Top defunct when using WIN+D keyboard shortcut
- Winamp 5.54 (5.5.4.2147) - clean install
- Bento skin, default language - Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo, AMD Sempron 1.8GHz, 2GB RAM - Windows XP SP2, Danish locale - Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE, v6.14.11.7516, ForceWare 175.16 (WHQL) - Realtek High Definition Audio, v5.10.0.5273 (WHQL) - DirectX 9.0c Problem: When minimizing all open windows with WIN+D keyboard shortcut, Winamp's "Always on top"-feature is deactivated, even though the Winamp UI indicates it is still active. Steps to reproduce: - Open Winamp, put in Windowshade mode and dock to top of screen - Activate "Always on top", using either CTRL+A or right-click-menu - Minimize all open windows using the WIN+D global Windows keyboard shortcut - Note that Winamp is also minimized - Click the Winamp icon in the systray to show Winamp windowshaded again - Click another window to show it again - Note that Winamp is no longer "Always on top", even though right-clicking in Winamp confirms that "Always on top" is checked - Note also, that hitting CTRL+A twice to re-activate "Always on top" has no effect, only de-activating and re-activating via the right-click-menu again puts Winamp "Always on top" Cheers, Geddeth. |

If I understand you post correctly, that is expected behavior. AOT is a layer thing and does not alter the minimized state.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, but definitely not new to Winamp. That said, I'm puzzled about the same issue (possibly) as the OP.
I have a slightly different issue, although it might end up being caused by the same problem or misunderstood in the same way. Basically I have my Dell Inspiron E1705 output to my plasma TV via DVI to HDMI (not RGB). Specs are: Windows XP SP3 Winamp 5.541 2GB RAM GeForce 7900GS GO (256MB RAM) DirectX 9.0c 1920x1200 when viewing on laptop screen 1920x1080 when outputting to TV (Panasonic TH-50PZ750U) Basically if I download a big file from the internet, once the file is downloaded, you will notice that IE will then copy/move the file to the location that you originally requested it to be placed in [from the temporary internet files folder(s)]. What happens, however, is that if I have Milkdrop running in fullscreen on my tv, IE's act of copying/moving the file after download will throw it out of fullscreen and minimize everything that's currently open. Furthermore, once this happens, I am UNABLE to use CTRL+A to toggle AOT (doing this does not result in the "A" appearing in the winamp player) I would have to click on the minimized taskbar icon for Milkdrop so that it opens back in fullscreen, press Esc so that it restores to the "windowed" state. Only then can I use CTRL+A. Some more notes: 1. Even if I enable AOT before going to fullscreen, this still does not prevent the "temporary copy" dialog from stealing focus. 2. Pressing CTRL+A while in fullscreen does not toggle the state of AOT. It only works when I'm in windowed mode. Any thoughts on any/all of the above? |

What I want to know: Is there a way to always have the visualization fullscreen and stay on top, no matter what happens in the background?
