Display list of playlists?

Someone asked something like this before, and someone else flamed him for not searching first. So I just want to state that I've searched a LOT for this and can't find it.

My non-computer-literate friend had winamp installed on his PC, but due to a crash, I'm reloading everything for him. Previous to the crash, he somehow had winamp setup so that the main winamp screen was displayed, the playlist editor with the current list of songs, and another window that listed all of his available playlists.

I can't figure out how to get that list to display. (It's not the html playlist - it's a winamp window.)

Thanks.

The list of playlists in the Media Library. In the playlist editor you can switch between the ML playlists by...
Click Manage Playlist (or List) button (right click if using a classic skin) > select "Open playlists from Media Library"

As of Winamp 5.5 there is a WA3 style multi multi-playlists sidecar style feature. It is part of the new default Bento modern skin and there is also one available for the Winamp Modern skin (via a download). The "sidecar" uses the ML playlists. The Winamp Modern sidecar is available for download via the 5.541 Essentials Pack.

Thanks, JonnyMac.

It is 5.5 that I've installed. If I click on the Manage Playlst button, I don't have a "Open playlists from Media Library" option. Only:
Open playlist...
Save playlist...
New playlist...

I use the Winamp Modern skin and just downloaded/installed Essentials pack that you pointed to. I don't really see any difference.

Please excuse my nubiness, but now that I've got it installed, how can I display my playlists?

Thanks again.

Not sure what an ML playlist is. I simply created my playlists using Winamp.

ML Playlists = Media Library Playlists

Is the Media Library (ML) installed with Winamp? That is where multiple playlists stored and can be viewed. The latest version of Winamp is 5.541. Try installing 5.541 making sure that Media Library is checkmarked in the install options.

When I've got Winamp open, one of the major windows is labeled "Media Library", so I'm guessing that I do have that installed. I'm running 5.541.

The ML window has three panes:
Portables
Portable Media Players Currently Connected
Transfer Queue

No information in any of the windows.
Under the "View" menu, I only see "Portables/Portables..." (which does nothing) and "Preferences...", which has several hundred thousand options, and I'm sure to shoot myself in the foot without guidance there.

Under the "File" menu option, there are several items that do nothing when selected, such as "Import current playlist", "import playlist from file", etc.

Well it sounds like you haven't installed ml_playlists which is the plugin which provides the Media Library Playlists feature. Run the full installer again and check the box next to Playlists under Winamp Library -> Core Media Library Components.

When it is installed you should be able to get something like the following image.

Winamp ATF ReferenceMy cPro timer widgetMy port of AVS

That was it. It was the library that wasn't installed.

Thanks!
