They seem to work nicely too.
Rare Breed vs Knob Creek: Drier, less obvious corn and almost none of that acetone note, not as fruity, leather, slight tannins (guess: less heavily charred barrels), bittersweet finish like dark honey. Overall it's just as strong but more elegant (obvious Western analogy: less John Wayne, more Lee Van Cleef). Both are still quite similar though, I think I could recognize them in a blind a/b test but if somebody gave me just one to taste and asked me which one it is it might be difficult. |
