Increasing BUFFER size in Winamp

Dear Anyone.

Comp. Specs. AMD Sempron in an Asrock ASUS motherboard with 1gig RAM.

I've got the latest version of WinAmp - love it, especially the SHOUTcast channels, many of them are fascinating. But there is a prob. If I've missed the answer to this somewhere else, just rub my nose in it - I did a search on BUFFER and only got Mike Llama - er didn't get any answer!

Is it possible to increase the amount WinAmp buffers before it plays? It's fine as long as I'm doing nothing else with the computer, but the moment I begin downloading anything (Firefox 2 - 3 sucks - with Orbit Download Manager) WinAmp develops terminal hiccups and buffers/rebuffers every 2 seconds or so.

Am I right in thinking that if it buffered more, it wouldn't hiccup? I know it's because the system's downloading as well, the moment the download's complete, WinAmp works fine.

By the way - your Java Chat Client link's a 404, as are some of the links on your plugins page.

Yours hopefully
