Creative Zen Vision M crashing Winamp!

Hi there. I recently got a Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB model and I'm having a lot of difficulties with Winamp. Whenever I try to sync music to the device, it gives me severe lag and hangs for several minutes before it begins the sync. In addition, any tampering with the program during this hang results in a crash. The hanging happened again after I finally managed to sync the music and attempted to access the Zen. It would hang for several minutes before letting me access it, and if I click out and click it again, it would give me the same hang. Can anyone suggest any solutions?

Running: Winamp 5.541
Windows Vista Ultimate
Intel 2.0GHz Dual Core
2 GB RAM
