Winamp Not Scanning Some Folders
I recently installed Winamp (5.541) after uninstalling an older version.
Now, when I scan my music folder, there are about half the albums missing. I can't establish a pattern in the missing folders. It appears random. To try and fix it I drag a missing folder onto Winamp. It appears to scan OK but the folder is still not appearing under albums! Clearing the library and rescanning results in exactly the same missing albums. It seems Winamp 'doesn't like' some of my folders anymore! It's not a missing tag problem because I have searched the library thoroughly and the tracks are simply not there. Using my previous installation (also a 2008 Winamp version) all folders showed up just fine. There should be 11,043 tracks but Winamp will only recognise 6,216. Any ideas? |

I am have the same trouble since I installed 5.541. I am coming up short 1553 files. I have tried several ways of scanning but they will not show in the media window.

Do you have anything in the Search box. (press 'Clear Search' button).

I would also ask how you are determining how many files you should have. Other causes could be that you removed a third-party plugin that you used or that you didn't install a plugin that you need for some of your files.

To find out the number of files in my music dir I go to a cmd prompt, cd to my music dir and run dir *.mp3 /s this gives me the number of file in this dir. As for the search it is clear of any commands.
