Don't want multiple WINAMPs

HI There

I recentley updated to the 5.541 version of WINAMP. Since I have done this I keep getting multiple instances when I shouldn't.
I have checked the settings these seem fine.
It doesn't always do it. I may double click a track and it will just play in the already running winamp window but then the next time it'll open another instance.
It doesn't seem to be affected by file format.
I have tried re-installing WINAMP but the same behaviour returns afterwards.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Do you think I'd be better off just returning to my previous version?

Preferences -> General Preferences: Make sure "Allow Multiple instances" is unchecked.

As you will read from my first post I have checked settings and these are all as they should be.

Since my first post I have tried scanning the registry and removing anything WINAMP related and re-installing to no avail.

Any suggestion that I HAVE NOT tried from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks anyway QOAL
