Problem converting FLAC
I've been trying to convert my FLAC files into MP3 or WMA, but it says the decoder cannot be found. I right click a song or group of them, select "Send To>Format Converter" and then it begins to convert, then pops up an error message. I've converted FLAC before in Winamp, and I think somewhere along the line I checked a "Don't show this again" box on some screen...how do I fix this?

This is the first time I've used .flac files, but, am having the exact same problem... I am trying to convert some .flac files to MP3's, but when I send to the Format Converter, and try to convert to MP3's (any format, it seems) I get an error that says:
Cannot Find Decoder any help would be appreciated... |

Try this
CTRL + P should open the preferences Under the Plugins section, there is a choice for Media Library. Highlight that. On the right side, double click Nullsoft Format Converter. This will pop up the configuration. Make sure that the naming scheme is accurat. Make sure that you use the format help button. Also, there is a checkboz for showing this screen before each convert. |

Thanks for the reply...
From this screen, I had selected MP3 Encoder v 1.35a, but when I clicked okay to convert the .flac files, I received the error about the decoder. I wondered if I may have messed something up at some point previously, so I uninstalled Winamp Pro completely, then reinstalled... During the installation I confirmed that I was installing the FULL version, and that the FLAC encoders were being installed. Completed installation, reloaded my library, and retried converting the .flac file to MP3's as before, and BINGO, it works fine now.... So, am not sure what was wrong, but the old reliable reinstall resolved it. Thanks again for your help. |

Make sure you don't install any third-party MP3 or FLAC decoders (The FLAC Reference decoder that comes in the FLAC package download does NOT support the Format converter) | Brought to you by ^V ^C | The one... the original... no seriously! |

That makes sense... I had previously installed a FLAC library plugin something or other... but uninstalling it didn't fix the problem...
