I want to get some skins and plug-ins for WinAMP and make a setup program that will install and configure them on user's computer. The problem is that I don't know how to find out if WinAMP is already installed on user's computer, and if it is, which is the folder (because I must install the skins in the Skins directory and the plugins in their own directory). I tried to find some registry-key, but I found none (only the descriptions of the files associated with WinAmp), and I will not search the entire hard drive for a file named "WINAMP.EXE", cause it'll take too long. So, my problem is:
I need a place where I can find out fast if WinAMP is installed on the computer, which is the WinAMP folder and what version is installed. Thank you. |

PIMP and NSIS can do this. Check the "Developer" tab of this site.

Why not try NSIS? I could not imagine a better (and easier) installer for winamp-related stuff... or installing stuff in general.
