Virus that reduces volume slide bar?

Anyone seen a virus out there that can reduce the volume slider bar when a particular mp3 starts playing? This has happened to me a few times, but can't put a finger on exactly when it's happening.

TIA

I am not aware of any virus that fucks with Winamp's volume...

Winamp keeps turning my volume up/down:

I had the same problem after I upgraded my Windows XP version from service pack 2 to service pack 3. Before upgrading, the volume slider would stay in the same position as when I closed it from the time before. After upgrading, the slider would go to 0 or not more than 10% on each song. It got really annoying.

Thanks Sawg very much. I used the second link, and that seemed to have fixed the problem. Now hopefully the upgrade didn't do any other damage.

Wow, those threads from the FAQ are old

You should be using DirectSound Output, not WaveOut
