Unable to run files?
I've used winamp in various versions for a long time, with almost no trouble. I recently installed a new hard drive on my computer, along with a new installation of Windows XP. After having downloaded the newest version of Winamp, I find that the player is unable to recognize or play any file extension except MP3.
This includes all audio and video extensions from old files that I backed up and transferred to the new HD, which were all previously playable in Winamp. Additionally, it appears unable to collect file info (artist, album, etc) for CD tracks (with the exception of track length), and unable to recognize or rip tracks from the CD to my computer. Perhaps also related, I find that when running video files in WMP if I skip ahead it often distorts either the audio or visual so that they either don't function (blank screen, or no audio) or don't align. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Did you install the Lite versions? As Lite pretty much supports MP3 and not much else.

I don't recall having ever downloaded or installed the Lite version. However, I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire player, and now everything works fine.
