Winamp locks folder from deletion

I download loads of CC tracks from Jamendo.com, they're free and legit so I just download hundreds and then scan through them at my leisure, deleting all the ones that suck.

The trouble is Winamp locks the containing folder even if the mp3's in the folder have been deleted and are not in the playlist editor and even if tracks from a completely different location are playing.
I have to close Winamp and then re-open it to play the next album every time I want to delete a folder or use an unlocker program.

I expect this will never be a high enough priority in the bug fix list, so is there a registry entry I can change to prevent Winamp locking folders or is it just tough s***?

OK thanks, a bit more investigation shows that it is not WA at all..
I've been using Directory Opus instead of windows explorer for so long without issue (love that program) that it never crossed my mind it might have an effect.
Using windows explorer is fine, thanks for your swift response
