Playlist will not play in order as before

All,
I'm having a curious problem with Winamp. When I try and play a playlist, I click on the first song in the list, and instead of playing that song, it skips down to song number 40 and starts playing. No matter which song I try to play, it starts on song #40. After #40, it goes to #57 every time.
And on and on..etc.
These are random songs as far as I can tell, not based on popularity...
I can tell it to play a folder and it will work normally.
Any ideas?
P.S. "Shuffle" is not selected for playback.

Does the playlist you are attempting to play have broken links? That means, does the playlist still point to the correct place?
