Music skips/freezes after being paused

Happens with any/all of my mp3's, they are being played wirelessly through a shared drive on my roommates computer. Both machines are XP Pro.

Problem is resuming playback after pausing for 15+ seconds, music will freeze and "stutter"

Pressing stop and then play fixes it, pausing and resuming in a short period of time causes no issues.

Any insight?
